MavLands is a service of MavLandsIntelligence, based in Sri Lanka. This page explains what personal data we collect when you request a price check, why we collect it and what we do with it. We aim to handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 of Sri Lanka, and other laws that apply to us.
What we collect
- The details you enter in the request form: your name, email address, and, if you give it, your WhatsApp number and note.
- Details of the property you ask about: nearest town, type, size, the price you were quoted and, if you share it, a map pin or advert link.
- Basic technical data our hosting provider records when you visit, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
Why we use it
- To prepare your price check and send it to you.
- To contact you if we need to ask about the property, or about a refund or a question you send us.
- To take payment and keep the records we need for accounting and legal reasons.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, for example spam and repeated automated requests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to send you marketing unless you ask us to.
Who it is shared with
We use trusted providers to run the service: website hosting, email, spreadsheet and storage tools, WhatsApp for messages you send us or we send you, and your bank or a payment provider for payments. They may process your data on our behalf, and only for that purpose. Some of these providers are outside Sri Lanka, so your data may be processed in other countries. We do not store your card or bank login details. If you pay by bank transfer, we keep the transfer record we need for accounting.
We may also share data where the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as we need it to provide the service, answer questions about it and meet our legal and accounting duties. After that we delete it or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under Sri Lankan law you may have the right to ask us for access to your personal data, to correct it, to ask us to erase it or stop using it in some cases, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To make a request, write to us at the address below. We may need to confirm who you are first.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. If we add privacy-friendly analytics, or a bot check on the form, we will update this page.
Children
The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this page. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
